The Board

IRSO is a company limited by guarantee. As such, it has to have Directors to deal with the Business of the Company. These Directors have certain rights, liabilities and obligations.

The Institute also has 12 regionally elected group representatives. To reflect the fact that not all IRSO members belong to area groups, these representatives are known as Area Representatives. This gives them a chance to represent not only active area group members but also all registered members of the Institute. This will give a better mechanism of communication for those members who want to be involved with the national body.

The Board of Directors consists of:

• Chairperson
• National Secretary
• Treasurer
• Registrar
• Training Development Officer

Each post will be supported by a Vice or Assistant, each of which will also become Board members.

As a result of the members' vote at the 2010 AGM, the Articles of Association will be formally changed to ensure that both the Chairperson and Secretary are elected posts in the same way in which the remaining posts are. All posts will be up for renewal in July 2011.
