Professional Development

Overall outcome: To facilitate professional development of all members of IRSO.

This committee deals with the educational courses and requirements relating to our own qualifications. It seeks to actively promote and support the continuing professional development of all members working in the field of road safety.

The current targets of the Committee are:

• To represent IRSO on the National Staff Training Group (NSTG)
• To update the NSTG Training Log
• To create a comprehensive list of national and local training provision suitable for IRSO members
• Contribute to the development of the Edexcel Continuing Professional Development Diploma in Accident and Safety Management
• Review the ongoing Irish FETAC pilot programme
• To achieve national standards for the National Transportation Qualifications
• Promote Professional Development Committees activities to all IRSO members
