London Road Safety Unit (LRSU) site launched

Transport for London has launched a new road safety website providing stakeholders, journalists and the public with information on the work of London Road Safety Unit (LRSU). The web address is http://londonroadsafety.tfl.gov.uk.

The website covers road safety topics such as:

  • Casualty data reports and fact sheets
  • Road safety research reports and studies
  • Intelligent Speed Adaptation
  • Road safety education resources available in London
  • Road safety campaigns
  • LRSU's engineering and road safety audit procedures
  • Motorcycle safety in London
  • A diary of international/national road safety events
  • News bulletins from LRSU and road safety in general

Chris Lines, Head of London Road Safety Unit, said "LRSU is dedicated to reducing collisions on London's roads through effective road safety engineering, research, education, campaigns and enforcement. The number of people killed or seriously injured on London's roads fell by seven per cent in 2008. The new website will play a vital role in LRSU's communication with stakeholders and the further reduction of casualty numbers in London."
